What it is
Prince Edward County Museums runs a short evening programme each October across its two heritage sites, and unlike most of the County's Halloween offerings the dates are posted well ahead.
Ghost Walk with the Paranormal Seekers, 3 October at 6pm, at Ameliasburgh Heritage Village. Tickets $15, and you register by emailing Janice at the museums directly.
Candlelight Graveyard and Gallows Walking Tours at Macaulay Heritage Park on Picton's Church Street, 23 and 30 October at 6:30pm. $20 for adults, $15 under 16, booked through TicketScene.
Ameliasburgh After Dark, 23 October, 5 to 7pm, by donation. It runs the same evening as the first Picton candlelight tour, at the other end of the County, so you are choosing between them.
Good to know
- These are evening events in unlit heritage grounds in late October. Boots and a torch.
- Macaulay Heritage Park is a five-minute walk from the Picton end of Main Street, so a candlelight tour slots on to the end of a tasting day without moving the car.
- Terror at Macaulay, the haunted walk-through that usually runs in the same park in the last week of October, is a separate event by separate organisers. Its 2026 dates are not out yet.
Fitting it round a tasting day
A 6:30pm start in Picton leaves the whole day for the eastern end of the wine route, and puts you back in town for dinner beforehand.
