How to read this
- Nobody is ranked on taste. Which Chardonnay is better is a matter for your own palate, and the County has 18 of them. What this page settles is which room suits which kind of afternoon.
- The differences are the useful part. Two wineries 400 metres apart on Closson Road can want a reservation or wave you straight in, charge $10 or $20, welcome the dog or not.
- A champion is not the only answer. Every category lists the others worth the drive, because the winner is often booked out on a summer Saturday.
- Check before you go. Fees, hours and policies move with the season. Every claim here was checked in September 2026 against what each winery publishes.
